How do I prepare for my appointment?
Makeup appointments: Remove all makeup before your makeup artist arrives.
Hair appointments: For blowouts, we recommend damp hair, washed 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment. For dry styling and up-do's, many stylists suggest washing your hair the day before. This allows your hair to hold shape better. If you prefer to wash your hair the day-of, that's fine, too — just be sure to have dry hair when your stylist arrives.
Some additional tips:
- Before your appointment, it's always a good idea to collect pictures of the look you're going for to help your stylist understand your vision.
- Before your stylist arrives, find an ideal spot for him or her to set up. Consider lighting, the height of available chairs, and proximity to an outlet.
- During your appointment, don't be afraid to speak your mind and tell your stylist exactly what you want.
Will I need to have my own products and tools?
No way! We tell our stylists to assume that their client has nothing — not a lipstick, nor a bobby pin to speak of. Our stylists come prepared with fully stocked kits — all the products, tools and cleaning supplies needed for the perfect appointment. If you would like your stylist to use a particular product that you own, don't hesitate to ask!
What if I have specific instructions for my stylist (buzzer's broken, product allergies)? Will I be able to contact him or her?
Absolutely! The day before your appointment, you will receive a text connecting you and your stylist. All replies to this message will go directly to your stylist, so you can send any specific instructions or inspiration photos leading up to your appointment.
